In 1958, Lion Feuchtwanger’s widow Marta donated the Villa Aurora residence along with the valuable library and Feuchtwanger archives to the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. In 1995, the Feuchtwanger Memorial Library was inaugurated at the University of Southern California. It contains, among other things, Heinrich Mann’s partial estate along with personal and business correspondence, manuscripts and published articles, personal documents, photographs and drawings from Heinrich Mann’s years in France (1933‒1940) and Los Angeles (1940‒1950), Hanns Eisler’s Californian partial estate and of course the estates of Marta and Lion Feuchtwanger.
