Annual Report 2020 of the Thomas Mann Archive

In this review of the past year, you can read what was achieved in the Thomas Mann Archive despite the pandemic, and what the focal points were.

The cover already draws attention to a highlight of the new addition to the collection: it shows the original drawing "Thomas Mann in Venice" by the Swiss artist Hannes Binder. The new addition expands the iconography holdings with works and portraits of Thomas Mann with a contemporary illustration.

Despite pandemic-related restrictions, all planned projects were successfully continued: Events were moved to virtual formats, the preparation of the new special and permanent exhibitions of the Thomas Mann Archive continued unabated digitally, and the follow-up project "Thomas Mann Nachlassbibliothek Online" was implemented on schedule: it has been available toresearchers onlineas an attractive new research tool since September 2020.
